Park playdate!

I have lost count how many photo sessions I have done with this family, and each time it gets better and better.  We try and mix up the location every time, beach, urban, local train station etc. This time…their park.  Talk about fun and lots of running around, on everyone’s part!

S. Family

Little Miss S. had gorgeous long hair, but was going to get it cut and donate it to Locks of Love, so her Mom wanted a photo session before the big hair cut, and the day that we choose turned out to be perfect.  The sun had a lovely pink hue to it, as if it had known the colors this family was going to wear and co-ordinated perfectly.

Such a beautiful family, easy going and a joy to be with.

K. Family – Dallas Child & Family Photographer

When you have someone with great hair, smile and shoes (oh those shoes!) this session was already going to be a success.  Add in a charming husband and a beautiful baby girl and it was a dream for me to shoot.

Baby E played with me, didn’t fuss at all and showed me her sweet little grin with a handful of teeth when asked 🙂  This family was so lovely to be around and I can’t wait to see you again very soon!

Summer blues – Dallas Child & Family Photographer

Tomorrow my kids go back to school, and with that the summer is over.

– No more sleeping late or lazy mornings

– No more Disney or Cartoon Network TV marathon watching

– No more trips to Sea World (yes, we are known to go 3 times a day!)

– No more ice-cream between breakfast and lunch

And the list goes on…

In the morning I will take photos of them before they leave for school, just as I do at the beginning and end of every school year and it always takes me by surprise as to how much they change and grow year to year.  And every year I make a promise to myself to not be so rushed, slow down a bit and enjoy spending time with them.  No big deal if we miss swimming or dance or any other activity for one day!

Rewind to the beginning of summer, the weather was getting warmer and the bluebonnets were out.  School was still on, it was close to her bedtime, but we decided to stay at the park just a little longer.  She was happy and I didn’t care that I broke the ‘no staying up past bedtime’ rule.  So even though we are all going to go back to the same ole routine tomorrow, I am going to break my own rules a little more often now.
